Which type of respirator supplies its own air?

The self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is designed to provide its own air supply, which makes it essential for environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health. SCBAs are typically used by firefighters, first responders, and workers in hazardous industries where exposure to toxic gases or a lack of breathable oxygen is a risk.

The SCBA consists of a tank of compressed air, allowing the wearer to breathe safely in situations where the ambient air is unsafe.
